NSYE Margin Debt (adjusted in real dollars) has changed very
little the past few months and remains very elevated. The last
two times the Margin Debt exceeded 350 Billion Dollars back in 2007 and 1999
(points A) significant corrections followed in the market. In fact if we
smooth the data using a 6 Month Moving Average (red line) the Margin Debt is
higher than 1999 and almost as high as it was in
2007.
